About Lisa Kragbé

Born in Buffalo, New York, and raised in Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa, I have been with Medaille College since November 2015 and started with TRiO SSS in June of 2020. I am also an alum having graduated in 2018 with my Masters in Organizational Leadership. As an undergrad student, I worked part-time. I also was an athlete, a team captain, club student leader, Resident Assistant, Student Manager, missionary, cafeteria food service manager, coach, volunteer, and ambassador. Of course, not all at the same time… LOL! Needless to say, I value new experiences to expand my skills, friend group, and worldview. Plus I believe being a lifelong learner and teacher is key.

French BA, Physical Education BS, Organizational Leadership MA

A Lesson I Learned as a College Student
College was a great platform to sharpen my leadership skills. There are many avenues I was able to choose from from a wide variety of opportunities as shared above. I had caring mentors and structured guidance which allowed me to learn new skills, make mistakes and learn from them, thrive, and leave a legacy. You will find the same support here at Medaille. Each experience had its challenges, but the valuable lessons I learned are still with me today.

Advice I Wish to Pass on to Medaille Students
For such a time as this, you are chosen and committing the next few years of your life to a part of the Medaille College community. This will be the place where you will grow, learn, and transition from being a student and becoming a professional. Jump in with both feet and take advantage of all that is offered to you... there is a lot! Get to know your professors. Get involved. Don't be scared to ask for help. Wisely use all your resources. Try something new... regularly! Set goals and seek accountability to help you reach them. Befriend people that don't look like you, and don't forget to do it all with a gracious and teachable heart. You will look back and cherish these years.
