Students in first through twelfth grades, who receive special education services, are eligible for tutoring at Medaille University. Participants will have the opportunity to work on IEP goals in a variety of content areas, as well as self-advocacy, behavioral needs, functional and daily living skills.

Students with Disabilities Tutoring Program

As of the 2019-20 academic year, Medaille University's Students with Disabilities Tutoring Program has moved to the Reading Center, located at our Buffalo campus. Students in first through twelfth grades, who receive special education services, are eligible for tutoring. An IEP or Section 504 plan must be submitted with registration for the program. Teacher candidates in our M.S.Ed. students with disabilities program will work with participants under the supervision of a special education faculty member. Participants will have the opportunity to work on IEP goals in a variety of content areas, as well as self-advocacy, behavioral needs, functional and daily living skills.

Apply for the Students with Disabilities Tutoring Program

Medaille University is pleased to offer tutoring services to students however, attendance is crucial to the tutors as well as students. Tutors must work consistently with children to meet state regulations for graduation and help students meet goals. Please apply to the program only if you are able to attend all scheduled dates and times.

Applications will be reviewed upon receipt and students will be accepted based availability of openings. Acceptance letters will be sent 4-6 weeks prior to session start dates. Thank you!

Medaille Tutoring Center for Students with Disabilities Location

The Tutoring Center is located at 77 Humboldt Parkway, third house from the entrance to the Buffalo campus. Parking is available in the front lot, directly in front of the Main Building, and behind the Humboldt houses, on the campus side. As you enter the Buffalo campus, make a left just after the stop sign, marked for visitor parking. For more information, please review the Medaille University Buffalo Campus map.
