On Friday, October 22, the Medaille College community came together for the 2021 Honors Convocation to celebrate the academic achievements and civic engagement of Medaille students. The annual tradition also honors scholarship donors and recipients, and it includes the presentation of the Dr. Brian Shero Teaching Excellence & Campus Leadership Award.
After the traditional processional and invocation by United Methodist Community Church Jehovah Jireh Pastor César Galarza, Medaille President Kenneth M. Macur, Ph.D., welcomed attendees. Dr. Macur then presented the 2021 Dr. Brian Shero Teaching Excellence & Campus Leadership Award to Department of Science, Mathematics & Technology Chair and Professor of Mathematics Vochita Mihai, Ph.D.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Carmen Wilson, Ph.D., led the recognition of Dean’s List honorees and Medaille Medal recipients. Medaille Medals are given to undergraduate students who earn Dean’s List status for four or more semesters. Dr. Wilson also announced Medaille’s Chi Alpha Sigma National College Student-Athlete Honor Society and Sigma Beta Delta International College Honor Society for Business, Management & Administration Programs inductees.
Department of Interdisciplinary Studies Chair and Assistant Professor of Philosophy Nicole Jowsey, Ph.D., led the recognition of scholarship recipients and the donors who made their educational opportunities possible.
The 2021 Honors Convocation program, full lists of honorees, and videos of the Honors Convocation and honors society induction ceremonies can be viewed on the event webpage.
