Internationally recognized behavioral couples therapy expert and Fulbright Specialist Keith Klostermann, Ph.D., LMFT, LMHC, an associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences, Communication & Sport Studies, has been selected as the recipient of the 2020 National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Foundation Board-Certified TeleMental Health Training Award. Dr. Klostermann’s selection was based on his outstanding experience and commitment to the counseling and supervision field. As the 2020 recipient, he will complete a Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) approved tele-mental health training program within 12 months of receiving the award. The NBCC carries out a vision of enhancing society worldwide through quality counseling. 

Dr. Klostermann was also selected as the recipient of the 2021 International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC) Outstanding Practitioner Award, for which he was selected based on his commitment to the values of IAMFC and the profession through both his clinical and academic pursuits. He will formally receive the award at the 2021 IAMFC virtual conference later this year.
