Phillips Lytle LLP Proudly Serves as Presenting Sponsor
On Friday, November 11, corporate partners and friends from the Western New York community will gather at the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum for the 2022 Medaille University Founders Day Dinner. Founders Day is Medaille’s signature philanthropic event, which raises money to provide resources and opportunities for students to thrive during their time at Medaille and beyond. All proceeds directly benefit students through providing scholarships, experiential learning activities, unparalleled student support services and numerous leadership opportunities.
Phillips Lytle LLP, a longtime supporter of Medaille University and proponent of the importance of higher education, is proud to serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the event.
“We are proud of our long-term relationship with Medaille University, and are honored to once again sponsor the University’s Founders Day Dinner,” says Phillips Lytle Partner Kenneth A. Manning, Esq. “Phillips Lytle shares in Medaille’s core values of curiosity, excellence, integrity and community, and we believe our support of this event will help develop future leaders in our region.”
Open to the Western New York community, the 2022 Founders Day Dinner will feature fine food, cocktails and live entertainment at the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum, home to one of the most unique car collections in the world. Eileen Buckley ’85, a senior reporter for WKBW, a member of the Buffalo Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame and a proud alumna of Medaille’s media communication program, will serve as emcee for the evening.
“When I walked onto Medaille’s campus in the fall of 1981, never did I realize how much the school would be a part of my life,” says Buckley. “Internships launched the start of my broadcasting career, I made lifelong friends that include classmates and professors, and I met my husband at the school. Legacy and higher education are very important to me, and I achieved both from my time at Medaille. I am proud to serve as emcee of Founders Day, as a chance to give back to the school as it moves forward in educating new generations.”
Founders Day also pays tribute to Medaille’s roots and the institution’s founding values by serving to recognize the excellence, achievements and service of esteemed alumni and community members. To that end, three awards will be presented during the dinner proceedings. Elizabeth Galanis-Miller ’01, president & chief operating officer of Sealing Devices, Inc., will receive the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award. Medaille trustee Brandye Merriweather ’07, president of the Buffalo Urban Development Corporation, will receive the 2022 Father Medaille Community Impact Award. Lastly, Mohamed Maalim ’22, founder & CEO of Safari Taxes, LLC, and a management trainee at M&T Bank, will receive the 2022 Young Alumni Leadership Award.
As embodied by the 2022 award recipients, the generosity of Founders Day sponsors and supporters has a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of Medaille students and the communities in which they live and work.
Founders Day tickets include an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner stations, dessert and museum admission. Learn more and purchase individual or group tickets by October 28.
