Medaille Launches Innovative Podcast Focused on Lifelong Learning

Posted by Medaille College Office of Communications

Life well LearnedOn February 5, Medaille College launched Life Well Learned, a podcast hosted and produced by multimedia personality and Medaille’s new Director of Professional Enhancement Elizabeth “Liz” Mantel. The podcast, which is a unique, leading-edge take on education and service to the community, is provided by the College’s alumni, faculty, staff and friends. It was created to entertain, inform and educate a diverse group of people, and to help them rethink the way they approach life, work and everything in between. Through the podcast and its website, LifeWellLearned.org, Medaille hopes to cultivate a space where people can share, not only life experiences, but valuable tools to help others grow.

“Medaille College is continually working to expand our curricular and co-curricular offerings in order to anticipate and meet the needs of our incredible students, our diverse alumni, and the communities we serve,” says Medaille College President Ken Macur, Ph.D. “Life Well Learned is a gift to the Western New York community and beyond, offering an innovative free service to every listener who works to navigate their way toward career success and civic engagement, while creating a healthy work/life balance.”

The first season takes a lighthearted yet honest and applicable approach to essential topics like adaptability, stress, and grief. The 20-minute episodes offer a deep dive into how to deal with those issues in people’s personal and professional lives, and they feature guests who are experts in related fields. The podcast is available on Apple Podcast, Stitcher, Spotify, Google Podcast, and LifeWellLearned.org.

“Not only is this podcast an entertaining listen, but it also encourages lifelong learning,” says Rich Schneider, president of the Medaille College Alumni Association. The College’s Alumni Association is the presenting sponsor of Life Well Learned. “We could not be more excited that Liz Mantel will be the host,” says Schneider. “She has been a voice in our community for years, and now she will be using her talents with Medaille to lead the podcast on a journey that I know includes cutting-edge topics and expert guests.”

Liz Mantel has more than a decade of experience in broadcast media, and she is well known and loved for her quick-wit and relatable personality. During her time at various radio stations throughout the Northeast and Midwest, Mantel garnered a following, thanks to her refreshingly human approach to connecting with everyone from community influencers to well-known celebrities. Mantel also shines in the digital space, possessing a knack for being able to connect with her audience by tapping into what they care about most. In addition to Life Well Learned and her own site, lizmantel.com, she is a contributor to Roswell Park’s Project Best Life. Additionally, Mantel serves as vice president for strategic development for FC Buffalo, helping manage operations and outreach for the local amateur soccer club. She is a native Texan, former Ohioan, and current resident of Buffalo.
