Medaille Professor Presents Research at Annual Literacy Research Association Conference
Posted by Medaille College Office of CommunicationsAssistant Professor of Education Jennifer Sharples Reichenberg, Ph.D., M.S.Ed. in literacy and advanced certification in literacy program director at Medaille College, presented her research in literacy coaching and teacher development at the Literacy Research Association’s 68th annual conference in California last month. In her presentation entitled "Beginning with Perplexity," Dr. Reichenberg proposed a seven-step reflective framework to be used as part of literacy coaching in schools. The framework begins by asking teachers to identify what they found perplexing, challenging or intriguing about a lesson they recently taught as a starting point for a conversation with a literacy coach.
The Literacy Research Association is a nonprofit professional organization that focuses on advancing literacy theory, research and practice.
