New York Health Information Management Association Honors Medaille Graduate With Outstanding Senior Student AwardPosted by Medaille University Office of Communications
The New York Health Information Management Association (NYHIMA) has recognized 2021 Medaille College health information management (HIM) program graduate Lisa Stana ’21 with its Outstanding Senior Student Award. The NYHIMA Outstanding Senior Student Award is presented annually to a senior in a Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM) accredited associate or baccalaureate HIM program. Criteria for selection is based on superior scholarship, integrity, initiative, enthusiasm and demonstrated professional potential. The nominee is required to be a NYHIMA student member in good standing who is planning employment in the profession following graduation.
Stana’s career goals include her continued work in the physician/provider health care sector, with a focus on revenue cycle management and medical coding. Her long term goals include attaining a master’s degree in health information management, and she strives to one day become an HIM educator.
NYHIMA also presents a Clinical Preceptor Award annually to an active member in good standing of NYHIMA. The 2021 Medaille College Clinical Preceptor Award, presented in recognition of the efforts of outstanding clinical preceptors, has been presented to BestSelf Behavioral Health, Inc. Chief Compliance Officer Kimberly Faulhaber, MS, RHIA.
