Interim President Dr. Lori Quigley

Medaille Interim President Dr. Lori V. Quigley has been elected as the ombudsperson for the National Indian Education Association (NIEA). In that role, she will continue her work to advance comprehensive, culture-based opportunities for Native American students across the country. Dr. Quigley, who is a proud Seneca Nation, Wolf Clan member, has been involved in Native American education for over 30 years.

On October 21, the Medaille community gathered together for the 2022 Honors Convocation to honor the academic achievements of students. This annual event also celebrates scholarship donors and recipients, and it includes the formal presentation of the Dr. Brian Shero Teaching Excellence & Campus Leadership Award to an esteemed faculty member.

On November 11, the WNY community will gather at the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum for the 2022 Medaille University Founders Day Dinner. Founders Day raises money to provide resources and opportunities for students to thrive during their time at Medaille and beyond. All proceeds directly benefit students through providing scholarships, experiential learning activities, unparalleled support services and numerous leadership opportunities.

The Medaille University community and friends from Western New York will gather at the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum on November 11 for the 2022 Founders Day Dinner. In addition to raising money to support students, the event will also pay tribute to Medaille’s roots and the institution’s founding values by serving to recognize the excellence, achievements and service of esteemed alumni and community members.

Russell J. Salvatore Check Presentation & Van Dedication Ceremony

On October 4, esteemed philanthropist and restaurateur Russell J. Salvatore joined Medaille University Interim President Dr. Lori V. Quigley and other Medaille representatives and students for a formal check presentation and van dedication ceremony. The ceremony comes after Salvatore donated over $78,000 to fund the purchase of two new 12-passenger vans, which will be used to transport students for various academic, athletic and co-curricular activities.

Medaille University’s 18th Annual New Student Academic Convocation was held on Saturday, August 27, marking the official start of the 2022-23 academic year. This special ceremony celebrated the official matriculation of the 2022 undergraduate entering class.

2022 PsyD Program Graduate

Medaille University’s clinical psychology doctoral program (PsyD) has received accreditation from the American Psychological Association (APA), Commission on Accreditation, with a routine contingent status in effect until March 23, 2027. This opens new doors for Medaille’s PsyD students, including eligibility for licensure in all states and access to more competitive internship placements, grants and loan repayment programs.

After several months of negotiations, the Board of Trustees at Medaille University and Trocaire College announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that sets in motion a cooperative agreement that would fulfill the missions of both institutions into the future. There are a number of steps that will take place in the anticipated timeframe of approximately 12 to 18 months for the agreement to be finalized.

This July, members of Medaille’s e-learning team attended the Anthology Together 2022 Global EdTech Conference, which brings together the most innovative education technology professionals from around the world. Director of Online Learning Mary Beth Scumaci and Instructional Technology Specialist Raymond Drechsel were inducted into the inaugural Blackboard Ultra Ambassador Program, and Scumaci, along with Digital Learning Technologist Julianna Woite, presented a session focused on keeping students engaged in online learning.

This June, the Medaille University Department of Business, Management, & Leadership hosted a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) Graduate Programs Informational Networking Event, which brought prospective students, alumni, faculty and staff together on campus.
