Medaille Professor to Publish Two Articles on College Athlete Gambling Behavior


Dr.NowakDonald E. Nowak, Jr., Ph.D., Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Counseling & Clinical Psychology, will have two articles published this fall related to his research into college student-athletes and gambling disorder. The first, “Gambling Disorder in the College Student-Athlete Population: An Overview,” will be featured in the Journal of Gambling Issues and will examine the rates of both pathological and problem gambling among college athletes. In addition, a review of the existing literature, “Addicted to Winning: A Review of Gambling Disorder in College Athletes,” will be published this fall in the Journal of Substance Abuse and Alcoholism.
