English Program Adjunct Professor Dr. Gregory McCann Appears on the Discovery Channel
Medaille College Department of Interdisciplinary Studies adjunct faculty member Dr. Gregory McCann, Ph.D., will be featured on the Discovery Channel’s Expedition Unknown on February 19. Expedition Unknown follows Josh Gates, the show’s host, on different journeys all over the world to find the truth behind legends and myths. The episode that will feature Dr. McCann is about the “Tek Tek” or Tropical Yeti of Cambodia.

Dr. McCann teaches ENG110: College Writing I, a freshmen writing class at Medaille. He holds a B.A. in English literature from CUNY Brooklyn and an M.A. in English rhetoric from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. He then went on to receive his Ph.D. in eco-criticism from Tamkang University in Taipei, Taiwan. Along with teaching English in Buffalo, Dr. McCann has also taught in Taiwan. Since receiving his doctorate, he co-founded Habitat ID, which plans wildlife conservation programs in Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia. He lived in Taiwan for over ten years, and has published many articles on conservation and the environment, focused especially on South East Asia and Cambodia.
Medaille has donated over 19,000 gloves and nine boxes of surgical masks to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, along with a variety of surgical gloves, face shields, gowns, goggles and nursing caps, in response to the critical shortage of personal protective equipment for local health care providers. College vans are also being used for food deliveries through FeedMore WNY.
