Medaille Alum Honored as Addictions Professional of the Year
Medaille alum Jené Gardner ‘13, a dual diagnosis counselor in Olean, New York, has been honored by Addiction Professional magazine with an Outstanding Clinicians Award as Addictions Professional of the Year. She will receive the award at August’s National Conference on Addiction Disorders in St Louis.
As Gardner told Addiction Professional, “From my first session, I was overwhelmed with the feeling that this is where I wanted to be.” The publication highlighted her “meteoric” career trajectory, nothing that she started working at Olean prevention and treatment organization CAReS (Council on Addiction Recovery Services) as an intern, moved into treating individuals with co-occurring disorders, received her master’s degree from Medaille, and was recently promoted to clinic director.
