Medaille Professor Completes In-country Service Via Fulbright Grant
Medaille’s Matthew H. Bowker, Ph.D., a faculty member in the College’s Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, recently traveled to Singapore to deliver three weeks of full-day and half-day faculty workshops and “train-the-trainer” seminars on the subject of facilitating critical thinking. The visit to the Singapore Institute of Management was funded by a U.S. Department of State Fulbright Specialist Grant.
In addition, the host institution has asked Dr. Bowker to continue his work after his in-country service by developing a diagnostic tool by which first-year and final-year students’ capacities for critical thinking can be assessed. He will also deliver an abbreviated form of these workshops to Medaille faculty during the 2018-19 academic year.
