Medaille Receives Grant from James H. Cummings Foundation
In the final phase of Medaille’s Partnerships for Opportunity Comprehensive Campaign, we are pleased to announce that The James H. Cummings Foundation, Inc. has awarded the College a $50,000 grant in support of the Laboratory and Science Center of Tomorrow (LSCT) project.
Renovation of the LSCT will create a new state-of-the-art science lab with significantly expanded capacity and facilities. The lab will feature cutting edge equipment that will allow students to develop STEM identities through collaborative, interactive group activities. This will allow the College to improve retention and persistence to graduation in STEM programs.
The expanded space and new equipment will be used for both enhancing Medaille STEM program offerings and increasing the capacity of Science in Bloom (SIB), a mentoring partnership with the Valley Community Association (VCA).
The James H. Cummings Foundation, located in Buffalo, NY, concentrates its support on organizations who are engaged in strategic goals that “advance post-secondary medical education, medical research and education” as well as “provide services for underprivileged children”.
