Medaille’s Black Student Union and Student Government Association Honor Black History Month With a Series of Events

Medaille's Black Student Union

Medaille College’s Black Student Union (BSU) and Student Government Association (SGA) are honoring Black History Month with a series of events on campus this February. With support from Medaille’s Director of Diversity & Inclusion and BSU Advisor Kenya Hobbs, the students have planned a series of events and activities for the College community to celebrate African and African-American culture and history throughout the month.

All Medaille community members are invited to show their support at the following events, and guests are welcome.

  • February 8: A free karaoke night led by Buffalo’s own DJ Hassan will be held in the Buffalo campus Lecture Hall from 6 to 9 p.m.
  • February 13: A free movie night featuring Marvel’s Black Panther will begin at 7 p.m. in the Lecture Hall.
  • February 15: An Open Mic Night will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Lecture Hall. All poets, singers and speakers are invited to share, and walk-ins are welcome.
  • February 23: A Black Excellence Gala will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Events Arena. Black, white and gold semi-formal attire is encouraged, and tickets are available in the Student Involvement Office.
