Name: Sarah Pollinger ’09 MBASarah Pollinger
Financial Representative, Alliance Advisory Group
Why do you stay connected to Medaille? I enjoyed my experience at Medaille. After achieving my MBA, I did not know how to get connected. A few years later, I was in Business First for an achievement and a staff member reached out. I happy to be connected again! Medaille has so much to offer.
What do you enjoy most about being a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors? Many times it is hard to find direction after graduation. I am happy to have the opportunity to work with the alumni with various concerns and opportunities they have after graduation.
What professor or class at Medaille stands out as a favorite, or as one that had a great impact? My favorite class was accounting. It was my favorite because I always did terrible in this class in college. While taking the class at Medaille, the curriculum was taught clearly and at a pace I could understand. Also, the class was small enough for me to ask questions. We had study groups as well in grad school which allowed me to learn from the three other individuals that were in my group. I got an ‘A’ for the first time in accounting.
What advice would you give to a current student? Get involved. It will help make your experience memorable.
What recent Buffalo development are you most excited about? The recent and ongoing development of the waterfront.
Last book you read: The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John C. Maxwell
Personal motto: Whatever you do, make sure you give it your all and that your heart is in it.
My favorite holiday is: Easter
Growing up, I wanted to be: A ballerina and if that failed, a pediatrician.
For the best wings in Buffalo, I go to: Gabriel’s Gate
