About Patrick M. Johnson:

Patrick Johnson joined Medaille College in 1992, bringing with him a diverse background in public and private accounting. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Niagara University and an MBA in accounting and finance from Saint Bonaventure University. He is also a certified public accountant (CPA).

Professor Johnson helped to create Medaille’s Accounting program and oversees the accounting internship program.  He has also helped to create the Accounting Bridge program, unique in Western New York.  Here individuals who graduated with a business degree but want to pursue a career in accounting can complete all requirements to sit for the CPA exam in under 2 years.  Johnson is an active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Through the NYSSCPA he visits area high schools to promote the accounting profession and helps to coordinate the annual accounting student award recognition dinner.

Prior to teaching at Medaille Johnson worked at the accounting firm of Gaines, Emhof, Metzler and Kriner (now part of the Bonadio Group). Currently he is a member of SCORE which provides workshops and presentations for local area businesses.  He maintain a consulting business in tax for small businesses and individuals.  He is an active participant in the community volunteering at Saint Luke’s Mission of Mercy and Our Lady of Fatima Shrine.  Most recently he has joined the Kairos Prison Ministry program. When not at work, he is a music leader at his church and enjoys drawing and spending time with his children.
