Medaille Sports Complex and Campus Fitness Center

Medaille Sports Complex & Campus Fitness Center
Athletes and fitness-oriented students alike are provided two training locations; the newly opened Medaille Sports Complex at Elk Street and our Buffalo campus fitness center, on the second floor of the Sully.
427 Elk Street, South Buffalo
Completed in summer 2019, the first phase of the Medaille Sports Complex included a soccer/lacrosse field with nearly 100,000-square-feet of 2.5-inch-thick turf (the best concussion-rated product on the market), bleachers for 500, an LED-lit scoreboard, a press box and lighting for night games. A 20,000-square-foot athletics administration building was also built, which contains six locker rooms, classrooms, office and storage space, a concession stand, and cutting-edge strength and conditioning facilities.
The second phase of development of the Medaille Sports Complex will add a baseball diamond, two softball diamonds, dugouts, batting cages, press boxes, scoreboards, and a multipurpose field with lighting (for field hockey, soccer and lacrosse) to the already robust site. With an expected completion date of Thanksgiving 2021, Phase II of the Sports Complex was made possible in large part due to the $1 million Higher Education Capital Matching Grant (HECap) awarded to the University earlier this year.
Not only do our student-athletes benefit from the new official home of the Medaille Mavericks soccer and lacrosse teams, but our facilities are also open to the greater Buffalo community to rent, as well! Rent space at the Medaille Sports Complex.
