Medaille Set to Apply for University Designation, Will Transition to Medaille University Upon Anticipated State Approval

Medaille College is excited to announce that its Board of Trustees has unanimously voted to support its transition to a university designation. Subsequently, the institution will be submitting a charter amendment request to the New York State Education Department, and upon anticipated application approval, will transition to Medaille University.

Over 300 Medaille College Students Earn Fall Semester Dean’s List Honors

Medaille College has named over 300 students to the Dean’s List for the fall 2021 semester. Undergraduate students who meet the requirements of a minimum of 12 credit hours and who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for all credit hours carried during that semester are placed on the Dean’s List.

On Friday, October 22, the Medaille College community came together for the 2021 Honors Convocation to celebrate the academic achievements and civic engagement of Medaille students. The annual tradition also honors scholarship donors and recipients, and it includes the presentation of the Dr. Brian Shero Teaching Excellence & Campus Leadership Award. 

Medaille College Board of Trustees Elects Two New Members

The Medaille College Board of Trustees has elected two new members to four-year terms, after a unanimous vote of all board members. Judge James A.W. McLeod and Brandye Merriweather ’07 will serves as trustees from 2021 to 2025, and will join Thomas Beauford Jr., Birgit Smith Burton ’89, Martin Griffith, Scott L. McFarland and Thomas G. Strauss as new trustees for the 2021-22 academic year.
